Carlos Alcaraz bounced back from dropping the first set against Andrey Rublev to seal a 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 win and a spot in the final eight of the men’s singles on the seventh day of The Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, London in his attempt to defend his Wimbledon crown.

Briton Cameron Norrie defeated Chilean Nicolas Jarry in a five-set epic that saw Jarry come from two sets down before the home player came out on top 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-7(7), 6-7(5), 6-3. Fifth seed Taylor Fritz’s tie against Australian Jordan Thompson came to a premature end after the Australian was forced to retire through injury.

Yuki Bhambri, the only Indian in action today, and partner Xinyu Jiang, fell to a 7-6(6), 6-3 defeat against second seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Shuai Zhang in the mixed doubles.
