Texans coach DeMeco Ryans is preparing to face the Ravens on Christmas, and he thinks that means he’s facing the best player in the NFL.Ryans said today that Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is his choice for league MVP.“Lamar is playing some of the best football he’s played,” Ryans said. “He definitely jumps off the tape as the best player I’ve seen this year. Talk about the MVP? He’s definitely the MVP in my mind for what he’s doing not only run game-wise, but throwing the football, the accuracy, the decision-making. He’s playing unbelievable ball right now, so he’s going to be a really tough challenge for us this week.”Jackson is second in MVP odds behind Bills quarterback Josh Allen, but the MVP race isn’t over. Ryans hopes Jackson doesn’t have the kind of spectacular Christmas Day performance that could move him ahead of Allen in the MVP race.
