Shabash to our heroes: Shashi Tharoor apologises to Team India after Oval Test win

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has heaped praise on the Indian Cricket Team for its historic win against England at the Oval. Expressing his exuberance at the win, he said that the Indian team displayed grit, determination and passion during the course of the match.

"Words fail me.WHAT A WIN! Absolutely exhilarated & ecstatic for #TeamIndia in their series-clinching victory against England! The grit, determination, and passion on display were simply incredible. This team is special," tweeted Tharoor.

He also apologised for expressing doubts about the team on Sunday in another tweet.

"I am sorry that I expressed a spasm of doubt about the outcome yesterday. But @mdsirajofficial never stopped believing! Shabash to our heroes," he tweeted.

Earlier on Sunday, Tharoor mentioned that he has been missing Virat Kohli during the series and even more during the course of the Oval test.

Praising the former Indian skipper, he said that Kohli's presence on the field could have led to a different outcome and even urged him to come out of retirement.

"I’ve been missing @imVkohli a few times during this series, but never as much as in this Test match. His grit and intensity, his inspirational presence in the field, not to mention his abundant batting skills, might have led to a different outcome. Is it too late to call him out of retirement? Virat, the nation needs you!," Tharoor had tweeted on Sunday.
