Celtic vs Rangers derby fixture change revealed as third league meeting gets new date

THE third Premiership Old Firm meeting has been given a new date after being selected for TV coverage this afternoon.

Celtic and Rangers will go head-to-head once again in March for the last league derby before the split and it was initially pencilled in for a 3pm kick-off on March 15.

But it was always going to be rescheduled given that date is a Saturday and no games are allowed to be broadcasted at that time due to the media blackout.

It will now take place the following day on Sunday, March 16, and will get underway at 12.30pm.

It will be shown live on Sky Sports.

And it will be a Super Sunday in the Premiership as Dundee United will host Dundee later that day at 3pm.

Sky do NOT have the rights for that game though as it will be shown live on Premier Sports instead.

The two derbies are just two of several upcoming fixtures to be moved for TV purposes.

Celtic's trip to Easter Road to face Hibs will now take place on Saturday, February 22, with a 12.30pm kick-off on Premier Sports and their match home against Aberdeen three days later will be shown live on Sky at 8pm.

The Hoops will also take on St Mirren in Paisley on March 1, with that game pencilled in for a 5.30pm kick-off.

Rangers also see their trip to Kilmarnock on February 26 picked up by Sky, which will get underway at 8pm.
