Fantasy Football Intriguing Waiver Wire Targets Ahead Of NFL Week 7

0
The waiver wire has dried up in recent weeks, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t good options to keep an eye on. These players could be hidden gems on the fantasy football waiver wire.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey

Lil’Jordan Humphrey was heavily utilized in the New York Giants’ offense Thursday night, and he seems to have a good connection with Jaxson Dart. Humphrey was targeted eight times, hauling in four receptions for 55 yards. His role was increased due to the absence of Darius Slayton, but if he has to miss more time, Humphrey could have more opportunities. He also saw plenty of targets in the red zone, increasing his fantasy upside. He could definitely be a solid flex play this week if Slayton misses another game.

Kimani Vidal

Kimani Vidal was a hot topic following the injury to Omarion Hampton. Hassan Haskins was presumably the lead back and was added in a majority of fantasy leagues. This changed on Sunday when Vidal got off to a hot start. Regardless of his known role, Vidal should be added to all fantasy leagues while Hampton is out. The Los Angeles Chargers are likely to go with the hot hand, so starting either may be tough, but a high-upside flex play is on the table.

Bam Knight

Bam Knight took full advantage of his opportunity on Sunday. He was not expected to be involved in the RB carousel for the Arizona Cardinals, but that has now changed. He received the goal-line carries and got more touches than Michael Carter. This was a game where Emari Demercado went down with an injury, but Knight seems to have some fantasy value regardless. If he maintains the goal-line carries, he will be someone to grab on the waiver wire this week.

Oronde Gadsden

Oronde Gadsden has received high praise coming out of the preseason, and he is showing why. With Quentin Johnston out with an injury, Gadsden had his breakout game in the NFL. His fantasy value may not be very high, but he is worth a claim in TE premium leagues, as it appears he should be the starter for the Chargers.

Jordan Whittington

Jordan Whittington is an intriguing option solely due to the injury to Puka Nacua. Sean Mcvay has always supported a system that has multiple receivers producing in fantasy. If Nacua does miss time next week, Whittington would be a fantastic play against a Jacksonville Jaguars team that has been poor against receivers. There has not been a reliable receiver to waivers in quite a few weeks, so Whittington should be a hot commodity based on the chance Nacua does not play.

Tez Johnson

Tez Johnson is a fantastic option to keep an eye on this fantasy season. He has seen a continuously developing role and seems to have a lot of fans on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This option became even more intriguing after Tampa Bay lost another receiver, rookie Emeka Egbuka, to an injury. Johnson is definitely someone to pick up now before it’s too late. He hasn’t broken out yet, but his time seems to be coming.

Noah Fant

Noah Fant would only be considered an option in deeper fantasy leagues, but with the injury to Mike Gesicki, he is an option, nonetheless. He and Tanner Hudson each hauled in four receptions Sunday, so both may be seen as viable waiver claims. Fant has had more NFL success, hence why he is the priority here. The Cincinnati Bengals introduced Joe Flacco as the new QB this week, so a reevaluation of the passing game should be done. Fant saw success with Flacco under center, so he should be considered this week.

End Of My Fantasy Rant

This week, once again, did not present any league-winning type waiver claims, but that doesn’t mean there is no value. There are certainly some players worthy of claims who could impact players’ fantasy seasons.
