Auburn sophomore receiver Malcolm Simmons was arrested Wednesday on charges of domestic assault with strangulation or suffocation, according to recent records from the Lee Country Sheriff's Office. Simmons' bond is set at $20,000.Simmons, a former 4-star recruit from Alexander City, caught 40 passes as a true freshman last season, with 451 yards and three touchdowns. He is expected to be a starter for Auburn this fall.Simmons is the second Auburn football player arrested in eight days, after redshirt freshman linebacker DJ Barber was arrested in Dadeville on charges of of trafficking marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
