Everton enter the final week of June with work to do before the real transfer mayhem begins. Business is expected to pick up across the world of football on July 1, a date that signifies the start of the new football financial year - and a new PSR cycle.

Before then, clarity is required on the as yet unresolved contract situations of Seamus Coleman, Idrissa Gueye, Michael Keane and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Each of their current deals will expire next week.

Coleman and Gueye have been offered fresh terms, with the club captain seen as important to David Moyes’ plans during a period of transition. Talks with Gueye have centred on the length of any new deal. The club has remained in contact with Keane and Calvert-Lewin and said earlier this month it continued to liaise with their representatives.

That has not stopped work continuing. Carlos Alcaraz became the first permanent men’s signing of the Friedkin era last month and talks have opened with Jarrad Branthwaite over a new deal.

Having been linked to the likes of Kyle Walker and Vladimir Coufal, Everton are advancing in talks with Fulham right back Kenny Tete. The 29-year-old is due to be a free agent next week.

A right back is just one of several positions Everton need to address. The club has tracked Nick Woltemade of Stuttgart and Thierno Barry of Villareal, both of whom are at the U21s Euros. Woltemade scored once again for Germany on Sunday, taking them through to the semi-finals with his fifth of the competition.

Plenty more names have been linked, with Everton an easy club to speculate around given the amount of work to be done. John Stones has now spoken out about the speculation surrounding him. Jack Grealish and Timothy Weah are among the others that have come under focus - as is James McAtee. The Manchester City starlet helped fire England’s U21s past Spain at the weekend.
