St Kilda has long been linked to Carlton free agent De Koning and has a lucrative deal worth around $1.7 million per season on the table for him.Multiple reports have suggested St Kilda would only entertain a trade for Marshall if a rival club was prepared to part with a mid to late first-round pick.'Ross tried to get me on his shoulders!' | 00:46Quizzed about his footy future on Monday, Marshall told reporters: “This is going to sound so cliche, but I haven’t really given it too much thought.“There’s four games left and I’m employed by the St Kilda Football Club to rock up each week and perform. That’s just my sole focus at the minute.“My last two or three weeks, I’ve been pretty disappointing individually, so I just want to finish this season well with a strong patch of form and go into next year.”On the Saints’ pursuit of De Koning, Marshall said: “Obviously he’s a great player. Whatever is going to make us better, that’s what we’re trying to do. He’ll make us a better team.Marshall also suggested he didn’t mind if he shared ruck duties with another recognised big man.“As long as we’re winning games, I don’t really care,” Marshall said.‘SURPRISED IF HE’S PLAYING IN A CARLTON JUMPER’Jack Silvagni’s future at Carlton remains unclear, with Collingwood moving close to securing the gun defender’s signature, according to Nine reporter Sam McClure.Carlton has reportedly had a four-year extension in front of Silvagni – who remains unsigned for next year amid unrestricted free agency rights – since Round 14.But chief Herald Sun football writer Jay Clark last week reported Collingwood had emerged as a shock suitor for Silvagni, before Jon Ralph reported on Friday night the Magpies had also put forward a four-year offer that was slightly more “financially lucrative”.Speaking on Channel 9 on Monday night, McClure said he’d be “very surprised” if Silvagni was still on Carlton’s list next year.TDK's efforts slammed as 'unacceptable' | 01:14“The interesting thing here, though, is that if he was to leave Carlton and play for Collingwood next year, it wouldn’t be about the money. It paints a reasonably dark picture about, I guess, the frustrations in the playing group at Carlton right now,” he told Footy Classified.“I will say I wouldn’t be surprised if another club came late after seeing how this is transpiring, because finding solid key defenders at that sort of market rate is quite rare. So maybe a Sydney or a Western Bulldogs or someone that needs a key defender.“A few weeks for this one to play out. Not certain he’ll be playing in a Collingwood jumper Round 1 next year, but I’d be very surprised if he’s playing in a Carlton jumper, so it seems like he is on the way out.”
