As of Saturday, she is ranked 67th, behind Mexico’s Renata Zarazua and ahead of Armenia’s Elina Avanesyan.

On the WTA website, however, she is ranked 65th, which is 11 places lower than her career best ranking of 56th.

Eala pulled out of the Cincinnati Open earlier this week because of an injury to her left shoulder sustained in the National Bank Open in Montreal.

According to the WTA website, apart from the Cincinnati Open, she will also miss the Abierto GNP Seguros Monterrey Open in Mexico, which will take place on Aug. 18.

In Cincinnati, Eala was replaced by Zarazua, who was a rival and former doubles partner in previous tournaments.

“Montreal was a short but sweet trip. I had so much fun out on court! Time to rest and recover,” she wrote in an Instagram post, following her National Bank Open stint.

She had a three-set early exit in Montreal to former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova and is supposed to get ready for the upcoming US Open main draw later this month.

Her recent jump in the rankings this year stemmed from defeating higher-seeded opponents that included then World No. 2 Iga Swiatek in the Miami Open back in March, as well as a finals appearance in the Eastbourne Open last June.
