As it happened: Roosters flex muscles over Raiders

69 min: The Roosters once again make the Raiders pay with Aiken dummying at the line and darting her way through to get a try of her own. Roosters seal the win 26-14.

68 min: Forward Grace Kemp comes up with a mistake, the Raiders challenge the knock forward but it is unsuccessful and the Roosters get another shot inside the Red Zone.

63 min: The ball goes forward off the Roosters and the Raiders make them pay when they send the ball right to Simpson who muscles her way over the line to score her third consecutive try in as many games.

54 min: The Roosters charge downfield and Aiken earns a repeat set with a well weighted grubber. It takes just three tackles for the home side to set up another right side shift and Wood earns a double. Roosters 20-10.

52 min: Tatiana Finau comes up with a one on strip to put the Raiders back on the attack. Temara puts it on the boot on the fifth and while the kick was stray, it pays off with Taina Naividi getting tackled into touch. The Raiders can't capitalise on the repeat set.

47 min: A spectacular solo try to Temara with the veteran grubbering for herself and regathering the ball after several Roosters make a meal of the football. The playmaker converts her own try and it's game on 16-10.

45 min: Roosters forward Macie Carlile is placed on report for high contact on Mackenzie Wiki.

38 min: More costly errors from Canberra hand the Roosters three consecutive sets with the ball and another pinpoint cutout pass from Aiken sends a scheming Sergis over the line. Kelleher adds the extras to make it 16-4.

Half time: The Roosters completed only 12 of their 18 sets compared to the Raiders 12 from 16. It was their line breaks (3-0) and tackle breaks (16-11) which set up their lead at the break. Stand-in skipper Olivia Kernick was a stand out with 80 run metres and 22 tackles for the first half.

35 min: The competition leaders flex their muscles with a simple right side shift out of the scrum and Aiken finds Wood with a cut out pass to the wing to make it 10-4 at the break.

34 min: The Raiders have a chance to soak up the last minute of the half but Leianne Tufuga comes up with an error on the first play and the Roosters get a chance to extend their lead before the break.

25 min: A strong set of six has the Raiders looking dangerous and a Sereana Naitokatoka kick to the corner finds Isabella Waterman with a trademark leap and score. Roosters 6-4.

24 min: Some slick hands to the right sees has the Roosters are on the attack again but Jess Sergis' pass to Mia Wood goes stray.

22 min: A knock on followed by a penalty from Zahara Temara opens up a golden opportunity and the Roosters capitalised on the fifth tackle with Jasmin Strange charging onto an Aiken short ball. Roosters 6-0.

13 min: The Raiders are on the attack but once again finish the set without a fifth-tackle kick, but the tactic seems to be paying off with the visitors carrying plenty of momentum.

7 min: Raiders fullback Elise Simpson is tested under a Jocelyn Kelleher high ball and the Roosters are back in the Red Zone but Olivia Kernick comes up with an error over the line.

3 min: An uncharacteristically shaky start from the Roosters with Jayme Fressard coughing up an early error in the attacking zone. The Raiders are in the grind early.

Late Mail

Roosters: The Roosters are 1-17 with no late changes. Fullback Corban Baxter remains sidelined with an ankle injury after dropping out of the squad on Thursday while Tavarna Papalii (concussion) was the last player omitted an hour before kick-off. Skipper Isabelle Kelly (oral fracture) is out until the finals so Jayme Fressard shifts to the centres and Mia Wood moves from the interchange to the wing. The Roosters have won eight from nine at Allianz Stadium.

Raiders: No further game day changes after Amelia Pasikala was added to the bench and Lili Boyle dropped back to 18th player. Young gun Elise Simpson has scored four tries in her last three games and will again provide the spark from fullback as the Raiders chase a fourth straight win.
