Mohun Bagan followed with a ₹1.5 crore offer, also turned down.FC Goa joined the race but chose not to escalate the bidding.Eventually, both East Bengal and FC Goa pulled out due to the high transfer fee and increasing salary demands.“Both East Bengal and FC Goa wanted to sign Tekcham Abhishek Singh, but it was Mohun Bagan who fulfilled all the demands of the deal,” a source close to the negotiations told Khel Now.Deal breakdownKhel Now understands that Mohun Bagan have agreed to pay approximately ₹1.8 crore as a transfer fee to Punjab FC. Singh will sign a three-year deal, with an option to extend. All the terms and conditions of the deal have been agreed upon, and all three parties will look to sign the paperwork as soon as possible.“Mohun Bagan will pay approximately ₹1.8 crore to Punjab FC. Over three years, Tekcham Abhishek Singh will earn an average of ₹2.1 crore per season for first three seasons. The total deal value of this transfer exceeds ₹8.1 crore, excluding bonuses,” added a source.Singh’s ability to play on both flanks makes him a versatile asset for Mohun Bagan. With his dynamic attacking modern fullback style, he is likely to play a key role under head coach Jose Molina.Mohun Bagan are planning their 2025–26 season with Singh as a regular starter.
