The Sporting CP striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for a while now as he continues to impress in the Portuguese top-flight.Gyokeres, who sees his contract at the Jose Alvalade Stadium expire in June 2028, featured 33 times in the Primeira Liga this season, scoring 39 goals while also providing eight assists. Playing an important role in Rui Borges' team, he fired the Lions to their second successive title. The Sweden international also helped Sporting clinch the domestic double, netting a stoppage-time equaliser in their 3-1 win over Benfica in the Taça de Portugal final. football.london understands Arsenal are long admirers of Gyokeres, with interest dating back to his spell at Coventry City in the Championship.Despite catching the eye during his first year at Sporting, the Gunners, like many other clubs, opted against making a bid. The 27-year-old continued his brilliant form this season, making him an attractive option.football.london understands that sporting director Andrea Berta is thought to be a 'big fan', but - as things stand - Arsenal are yet to submit an official offer. Over the weekend, The Times reported that Gyokeres would prefer to join the Gunners over Manchester United. The report claimed the Sporting striker made that decision following exploratory talks with the Red Devils. While this is great news for Arsenal, The Times reckon that Arsenal are still split on whether they should sign Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko.Juventus want to take advantage of the north Londoners' indecisiveness - and United's setback - and sign the Swede, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport. It's said that the Serie A outfit have held talks with Gyokeres' entourage and they're prepared to offer a contract worth £11m-a-year.The Old Lady will also reportedly submit an official bid worth more than £60m 'in the next few days'. Corriere dello Sport adds that any move from Juventus will hinge on whether Dusan Vlahovic leaves this summer.Speaking to reporters last month, the Sporting boss insisted that Gyokeres is happy at the club. As quoted by the Metro, Borges said: "He's very happy here."He's very connected to the game, he wants to score and he's obsessed with this. He's very focused on the final, he knows he had a great season.Borges went on: "He's the best striker in Europe, as the numbers show. He will be attractive, but I believe that if he doesn't leave Sporting, he will remain very committed to the club. He feels very happy here."On the summer transfer window, the Sporting boss said: "I'm sure that a large part of the group will stay. That has been the club's policy in recent years, and the achievements show it."It's difficult to guarantee because there are clauses and things that we can't control, but I believe that, if not all, a large part of the squad will stay for next season."
