Injury news: Redman eyeing off return

Mason Redman is on track to return from a hamstring injury this Saturday, provided he gets through main training without issue on Wednesday.

The defender, who missed three matches leading into the bye with a calf strain and then missed last week’s game with a separate minor hamstring complaint, has responded well to treatment and training over the last week, now expected to take his place against the Tigers at the MCG.

Jayden Nguyen will return for Saturday’s VFL clash with Box Hill, set for his first playing minutes since suffering a foot fracture back in May.

As reported on Monday, hamstring surgery will rule out Zach Reid for the remainder of the season, while Jye Caldwell will look to return later in the season as he undergoes surgery on his syndesmosis this week.

Nik Cox will step away from football for the remainder of the 2025 AFL season at the recommendation of the league’s independent Concussion Panel.
