Enzo Maresca is set to ring the changes for Chelsea’s trip to Molineux on Wednesday night.

Chelsea take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, looking to bounce back from their shock defeat to Sunderland last weekend.

However, they may have to do it without a few of their key players, with Maresca likely to rotate his team.

Liam Delap is expected to feature, though, after being out for two months with a hamstring injury.

Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Joao Pedro could all be rested

This season, Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Joao Pedro have been three of Chelsea’s most important players.

In a bid to “protect” them, Maresca has hinted that they may not play against Wolves and could be rested instead.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, which has been relayed by football.london, the Chelsea manager said: “They are probably players that need to be protected. Probably tomorrow. We will see. Enzo, Moi and Joao, they are all different players for different reasons we need to protect them.”

It means that Andrey Santos and Romeo Lavia could both start in midfield for the Blues when they travel to Molineux.

After a slow start to the season, Santos needs a big performance if he plays. Further forward, there should be an opportunity for Facundo Buonanotte in the No.10 position, which is where Pedro has played at times this term following Cole Palmer’s injury.
