The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shortlisted five players, including four experienced campaigners and one emerging pacer, for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Bangladesh scheduled for next month.

According to sources, the players under consideration are Sahibzada Farhan, Hussain Talat, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, and young seamer Ali Raza.

The T20I series will be played across Faisalabad and Lahore, with Bangladesh expected to arrive in Pakistan on 21 May. Exact match dates have yet to be confirmed.

Among the standout names is Sahibzada Farhan, who has been in prolific form during the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025.

Farhan currently leads the global T20 run-scorers' chart, having scored 841 runs in 12 matches at an average of 84.10 and a strike rate of 182.42.

His achievements include four T20 centuries this year, joining a distinguished list alongside Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, Jos Buttler, and Shubman Gill.

Despite his domestic dominance, Farhan has only featured in nine T20Is for Pakistan, with his most recent international outing against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo in 2024.

All-rounder Hussain Talat has also staked his claim after scoring 193 runs for Peshawar Zalmi in HBL PSL 10. Talat, who has 394 T20I runs to his name, last represented Pakistan in 2021 against South Africa.

Veteran all-rounder Faheem Ashraf, currently playing for Quetta Gladiators, is also on the PCB's radar, with contributions of 68 runs and six wickets in the ongoing PSL. His last T20I appearance came in 2023 against New Zealand.

Hasan Ali, in superb form for Karachi Kings, has been another key performer looking to make his comeback to Pakistan's cricket team.

He leads HBL PSL 10's bowling charts with 13 wickets and recently became the all-time leading wicket-taker in PSL history, surpassing Wahab Riaz.

Emerging pacer Ali Raza has caught selectors’ attention as well, taking eight wickets in six matches for Peshawar Zalmi.

The PCB is expected to finalise its squad in the coming weeks as preparations intensify for the home series.
