The BBC brought coverage of Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship final to houses across Britain as they showed the decider live on TV.

People up and down the UK tuned in as Tipperary stunned Cork at Croke Park to lift the Liam MacCarthy Cup for the first time since 2019, while Cork's wait for All-Ireland glory continues.

Tipperary ran out winners by 3-27 to 1-18 after a dominant second-half performance, having trailed the Rebels by six points at half-time.

The action had viewers in the UK stunned with many taking to social media to have their say.

One wrote: "Turned on BBC this afternoon and have seen this mad sport called #Hurling. It’s wild! Quidditch, Lacrosse, Hockey, MMA, Rugby, Soccer and Egg and Spoon all in one. You Irish guys are crazy! This All-Ireland Hurling Final is so exciting and tense - get it on!"

Another said: "There’s GAA on BBC 2. What the f*** is this sport. Bats, what looks like a cricket ball, hockey markings, football markings, rugby posts, a football net, everyone with a helmet on, 2 goal line refs who have flags."

Someone else commented: "Currently watching BBC 2 and the All Ireland hurling championship ...... they're all completely mad."

One other person stated: "I see they’ve added a points total to the top of the screen for the second half of the Hurling on BBC Two. Presumably for the benefit us plebs who are watching for the first time and have no clue how the scoring works."
