Leeds Now 'Advancing' Talks to Sign Brighton Attacker on Loan

Leeds United are advancing in talks to sign Brighton star Facundo Buonanotte on loan, according to GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs.

Daniel Farke's side have started their Premier League season in mixed fashion with a win over Everton before a thrashing at the hands of Arsenal, while they have crashed out of the Carabao Cup to crisis club Sheffield Wednesday too.

Now the Peacocks are keen to add to their forward options before the Monday transfer deadline despite having already signed Lukas Nmecha, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor this summer, and Buonanotte has emerged as a top target.

Leeds 'Advancing Talks' to Sign Buonanotte

Buonanotte, who has been described as 'phenomenal', spent the 2024/25 season on loan with Leicester City but couldn't stop them from being relegated back to the Championship.

The Argentine playmaker is not currently in Fabian Hurzeler's plans at the AMEX Stadium, and Leeds are now advancing in talks to sign the attacking midfielder on a season-long loan for Farke.

Elland Road staff had been keen on a deal for Buonanotte earlier in the window, but the belief was that he would be on the move in the continent, potentially to a team playing European football, which left Leeds down the pecking order in the race for his signature.

However, no such move has materialised and now the Yorkshire side are the frontrunners for a deal, and there is fresh optimism he can become part of the squad in the coming days.

Able to play as a number ten or a winger, Buonanotte will provide competition for the likes of Joel Piroe, Brendan Aaronson, Jack Harrison, Wilfried Gnonto and Daniel James in those attacker positions should an agreement be found.

The 20-year-old registered five goals and two assists for Leicester in the Premier League in 2024/25, and Leeds hope his experience in the top flight can help them avoid the drop, unlike the Foxes.
