‘A problem of values’ - Franck Haise slams Mahdi Camara for OGC Nice U-turn

Franck Haise has criticised Mahdi Camara (27) after the midfielder made a U-turn on his decision to join OGC Nice, despite an agreement being in place, to instead join Stade Rennais, who scuppered Le Gym’s deal at the final hour.

Camara had been all set to join Nice. As confirmed by Haise, there was a deal in place with the player and with his club, Stade Brestois. However, Rennes made a late move and successfully hijacked the transfer, proposing the player a significantly higher wage.

“We had the players’ agreement and an agreement with Brest, but when it’s not all signed… anything can still happen,” began Haise in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.

He continued, “I can’t prevent a club from being interested in a player. Maybe we too could have done that. But a player who goes back on his word, that is a problem of values.”
