Ex-England cricketer Jonathan Trott has hinted that Virat Kohli lives in St. John's Wood, London, sparking online discussions about the latter's residence.

Former England cricketer Jonathan Trott has hinted that ace India batter Virat Kohli seemingly resides at St. John’s Wood in London, sparking massive discussion among netizens about the star batter’s whereabouts, even as he has been spotted several times in the city over the past two weeks.

Kohli, who announced his retirement from Tests in May, on Sunday, July 6, congratulated the Indian team who broke India’s longstanding jinx at Edgbaston to win their first Test ever at the venue.

The post soon went viral and became a topic of discussion online as well as on broadcast, where Trott had some valuable inputs for Kohli fans.

“Doesn’t he live in St. John’s Wood or nearby? Can he not be persuaded to come back?" Trott asked while speaking on Sony Sports.

St. John’s Wood is a posh residential area in northwest London, known for its pretty homes, tree-lined streets and closeness to Regent’s Park, one of the royal parks of London.

A previous report in The Telegraph had said that Notting Hill is Kohli’s address in the UK. The distance between Notting Hill and St. John’s Wood is 2.8 miles, around a 20-minute drive.

“Coming back to Virat Kohli’s tweet, no wonder he misses that dressing room feeling. I sometimes wonder how quickly that feeling comes back after you give up the game," Trott said.

The former England cricketer said that he feels privileged to have watched current India skipper Shubman Gill’s double century and the second innings hundred in the Edgbaston Test, which had shades of Kohli.

Gill scored 269 and 161 in both Indian innings and now has the second highest individual aggregate of runs in a single Test (430) behind former England captain Graham Gooch.

“Today, he showed how complete a batter he is. It reminded me of the previous Indian number four, almost a carbon copy of that genius. I don’t think he could’ve dreamed of a better start to his first two Tests on this tour," Trott said while speaking on JioHotstar.

“I honestly feel privileged to be here and witness that innings. I can’t recall him giving the English bowlers even a single chance. The way he shifted gears, hitting sixes at will, without slogging, just pure cricket shots, was something special," Trott added.
