Paul Scholes launches astonishing Marcus Rashford rant - 'He won't get away with that'

Marcus Rashford has found form under Hansi Flick at Barcelona after enduring a difficult period with Manchester United - however, Paul Scholes has been critical of the England ace

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes admits he's struggled to get any real pleasure from Marcus Rashford's recent exploits for Barcelona. The academy graduate opened his account for the Spanish giants in the Champions League as his double downed Newcastle United.

The attacker added an assist at the weekend during their 3-0 win over Getafe to continue his positive start since his latest loan away from Old Trafford. Rashford found himself out of favour under Ruben Amorim and was sent out on loan to Aston Villa earlier this year.

His performances for Unai Emery's side earned him a return to the England set-up after falling down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel's predecessor, Gareth Southgate.

While Scholes noted Rashford's talent, he slammed the 27-year-old's attitude for his demeanour during his difficult spell with United.

"There’s no doubt the talent that kid has got, it’s ridiculous, he’s shown up in a big game, and that second goal was brilliant," he said speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.

"I really struggled to feel happy for him, to feel pleased for him.

"Mainly because his attitude, his attitude at United. The time he was leaving, I thought it was just disgrace at United, not trying, basically.

"Look, if you fell out with a manager, then OK, but remember, you’ve got team-mates you’re playing with.

"You’ve got a massive 80,000 there, whatever it is, every single week that you have to put a bit of effort in.

"The amount of times I saw him at United walking because he wants to leave, I thought his whole demeanour was a disgrace.

"I think he actually quit on Manchester United. And once you quit once, you’ll quit again."
