'Tuchel does not shy away from difficult decisions'

After England won in Serbia, Thomas Tuchel said there was no attitude after a mistake. He was speaking generally. No waving, no eyeballing, no bad words.

That is the kind of thing that Jude Bellingham has been accused of.

No doubt that people will put those two things together. Tuchel does not shy away from difficult decisions.

'Less is more as clubs have much more time'

England boss Thomas Tuchel on his team's style of play: "We try and find our own principles and identity.

"We played [against Serbia] with a high ball speed and didn't wait for the pressure of the opponent. Ball speed was a big thing to improve and overcoming deep or mid-blocks.

"We build on these principles as they are easy to learn and understand. Less is more as clubs have much more time to be deep into detail."

'You can never depend on one player'

England boss Thomas Tuchel on building squad depth: "What happens if Jude Bellingham or Cole Palmer get injured before a World Cup? We have to find solutions and I think we have in the last camp.

"This is more about last camp and what we started to build rather than the dependency on individual players.

"Declan Rice, John Stones, Harry Kane - we can have influential injuries. You can never depend on one player."

Thomas Tuchel has made a big point in this camp, and since he took over, that he wants to create a team feel.

This has been tested for this camp because he has left out arguably England's best player in Jude Bellingham as Tuchel wants to keep the team the same and that he feels the Real Madrid midfielder is not in his full "rhythm".

"Do I believe we are a stronger team with Jude, yes. Is he one of the best players in midfield in the world? Yes," said Tuchel.

"This is a team sport. We have to find solutions. I think we have found solutions in the last camp. This is more about the last camp and what we started to build. We can have injuries of hugely influential players. It can never be the solution to depend on one player."

'Lewis-Skelly benefits from the camps being close'

England boss Thomas Tuchel on Myles Lewis-Skelly not always starting for Arsenal: "You have to perform at club level on a regular basis.

"His behaviour was outstanding after not being involved against Serbia. It was of the highest level.

"He is one of the players who benefit from sticking with the same squad but performances for Arsenal will be required.

"He benefits from the camps being close.

"You can have a tough spell for your club but be reselected after what you've done for us. It is possible."

'Wharton deserves to be with us'

England boss Thomas Tuchel on the players who missed out: "Phil Foden is in a very good moment. Adam Wharton deserves to be with us. Curtis Jones and Trevoh Chalobah are getting minutes with their clubs.

"There are players who deserve to be here. Cole Palmer is injured who is a special player. It will always be like this."
