A wedding card featuring the names of music director Palash Muchhal and India's women’s cricket vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has gone viral. The card, which surfaced across social media platforms, claims that the pair are set to get married soon.

While the card has ignited excitement among fans and the cricketing community, questions about its authenticity persist. Some social media users have suggested that the card could be digitally altered or fake.

Buzz around the alleged wedding invite began when a fan account dedicated to Mandhana posted images of the card. The post quickly gained traction, leading to a surge of congratulatory messages from followers, fellow athletes, and cricket enthusiasts. Despite the attention, both Palash and Smriti have not issued any official statements regarding the card or the wedding plans.

Adding to the intrigue, Palash earlier addressed the rumours during an event at the State Press Club in Indore this October. "She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore... that’s all I want to say," he said. This indicated a possible acknowledgement of the relationship, but stopped short of confirming wedding plans.

Smriti, fresh off her recent contribution to India’s historic ICC Women’s ODI World Cup win, has garnered recognition as the second-highest run-scorer for the country in ODIs after Mithali Raj.

Palash recently posted about the World Cup victory and shared photos with Smriti and the trophy. In one caption, he wrote, "Am I still dreaming? (sic)" The celebratory posts have since been widely circulated by fans, further fuelling wedding speculation.

In another post, he expressed pride in India’s triumph. The post featured Smriti smiling while Palash displayed his 'SM18' tattoo, referencing Mandhana’s initials and jersey number.

With Mandhana’s cricket achievements and the ongoing buzz surrounding her personal life, the upcoming months are likely to keep fans engaged, both on and off the field.
