Eight young players have been nominated for the Premier League 2 (PL2) Player of the Season award.

The nominees have been selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel, who will also decide the winner. That winner will be announced at next week's Premier League Youth Development Conference.

Khayon Edwards (Arsenal): The 21-year-old forward scored 10 goals and provided four assists in just 17 appearances, making him one of PL2’s most productive forwards.

Finlay Herrick (West Ham): The 19-year-old goalkeeper has been a steady force at the back for the Hammers, racking up seven clean sheets - one of the highest in the league.

Emilio Lawrence (Man City): The 19-year-old forward delivered seven goals and seven assists as City finished top of the regular PL2 table.

Donnell McNeilly (Chelsea): The PL2 top scorer, McNeilly has enjoyed a superb season in front of goal, netting 12 times and adding two assists in just 15 starts.

Hindolo Mustapha (Crystal Palace): The 18-year-old midfielder was nominated for March’s PL2 Player of the Month and has enjoyed a stellar campaign with seven goals and six assists.

Lewis Orford (West Ham): The heartbeat of West Ham’s midfield, Orford registered 11 goal contributions (three goals, eight assists) as the Hammers secured a top-four finish. Orford himself won the April PL2 Player of the Month award.

Callum Osmand (Fulham): Osmand has been central to Fulham’s strong season, which saw them finish second in the table. The 19-year-old forward hit 10 goals and his form in November earned him the PL2 Player of the Month award.

Jahmai Simpson-Pusey (Man City): The 19-year-old defender brought calm and authority to the back line, contributing to six clean sheets as Man City topped the league.
