Indian star Virat Kohli kickstarts plan to retire from IPL; tells RCB about it: Report

Amid that, in a major news development, a report from RevSportz journalist Rohit Juglan states that Virat Kohli, who is in line to renew his contract in association with a brand ahead of IPL 2026, decided to not put pen to paper. With that, Rohit Juglan believes that the former Indian captain has kickstarted his plan to retire from the IPL in the next few seasons, telling RCB about it, but this claim shouldn’t be considered set in stone until a top official confirms it.

As per the article published in Cricket Addictor, Rohit Juglan was quoted as saying on the big matter to RevSportz, “Last time before the mega-auction, I got the lead that before the start of the next season of the IPL (that is in 2026), Virat Kohli would have to renew a contract in association with a brand. But the news is, he has not renewed his contract. Now the speculation is that Virat wants the RCB franchise to plan their way ahead without using his face.”

The RevSportz journalist also revealed that Virat Kohli was offered the captaincy of RCB ahead of the IPL mega auction last year, but he decided to pass on the offer while backing Rajat Patidar for it. Rohit Juglan remarked, “Even last year, ahead of the mega-auction, when he was offered captaincy of the RCB side, he did not show interest in it and rather pined for Rajat Patidar and backed him with utter confidence.”

With this, the fans of Virat Kohli might be in utter shock, but it is important to remember that the latest development hasn’t been confirmed officially by the relevant parties, which is why it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
