Exeter City statementThe club have this morning released a statement detailing the damage done."Exeter City Football Club can confirm a small area of the stadium was damaged by fire last night," it read."The fire is understood to have broken out in the St James Road and Well Street corner of the stadium and caused damage to the temporary building which houses the stadium’s control room."The alarm was raised just after 10pm and the fire was attended by more than five fire crews who brought the flames under control within two hours."We will be assessing the damage today and will update when we have more information."Thank you to the members of the public who reported the incident and for the fast response of the fire crews who brought the fire under control preventing further damage."The four standsNevada Construction Stand - The main stand at St James Park and houses the changing rooms, tunnel, executive boxes, directors lounge, hospitality suites and dugouts. It holds just over 2,100 supporters.Adam Stansfield Stand- named in honour of our former no.9, who sadly passed away from cancer in 2010. This 1,600 capacity stand is the newest at SJP.Thatchers Cider Big Bank - This stand has a reputation of being the loudest and most buoyant of the stands. It is a covered standing-only terrace with a maximum capacity of just under 4,000.Tracks Suzuki St James Road Terrace- is for away fans only and located at the opposite end to the Big Bank. It holds just over 1,000.Where the fire happenedThe fire broke out at St James Park stadium in Exeter, Devon. While the exact location of the fire is not know it is affecting at least one of he stands.Built in 1904 St James Park has a maximum capacity of 8,769 and consists of four stands, three of which are for home supporters and one which is entirely housing away supporters.
