The Premier League gets under way again after the international break, and Anfield is the stage for the meeting between the fierce rivals.

Here are 13 facts and figures to know before the 4.30pm BST showdown…

Liverpool have lost just one of their last 14 Premier League meetings with Manchester United (won seven, drawn six). Since the start of 2018-19, this is the fewest defeats of any side to face the Red Devils at least three times in the competition.

The Reds could become just the second team to avoid defeat in 10+ successive Premier League home games against United, after Chelsea (10 from August 2002 to February 2012).

Liverpool's seven league games this season have already seen four 90th-minute (or later) winning goals (two for, two against). Only in 2008-09 have the Reds ever been involved in more matches with 90th-minute winners in a season in the competition (five – four for, one against).

Mohamed Salah has more goals (13) and goal involvements (19 – 13 goals, six assists) against United than any other player in Premier League history. Cody Gakpo has three Premier League goals versus United – his joint-most against a side in the competition – with all three strikes coming at Anfield.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 20 Premier League games at Anfield (won 16, drawn four) and could win each of their first four home matches of a campaign for the sixth time (1995-96, 2004-05, 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2023-24 previously).

Since losing 1-0 to Nottingham Forest in September 2024, Arne Slot's men have won each of their last four league fixtures immediately following international breaks and beat Burnley 1-0 after last month's.

Liverpool have scored at least two goals in eight of their last 11 Premier League encounters with United and average 2.4 goals per game against them in the competition since the start of 2018-19.

United are winless in their last nine league visits to Anfield (drawn five, lost four) but have never gone 10 successive trips there in league football without winning.

Having beaten Manchester City last season, Ruben Amorim could become only the third manager to win both of his first two Premier League away games at the reigning champions, after Manuel Pellegrini and Antonio Conte.

United are winless in their last eight Premier League away matches (drawn two, lost six) since beating Leicester City 3-0 in March.

Bryan Mbeumo has made 173 off-the-ball runs in the league this term, more than any other teammate. Twenty-six of those have been followed by his side having a shot – a league-high figure.

After netting in the 2-2 draw at Anfield last season, Amad Diallo could become the fourth United player to score in successive Premier League appearances at Anfield, after Andrew Cole, Carlos Tevez and Javier Hernandez.
