Accrington Stanley football club asks fans to help shape new mural

Accrington Stanley fans are being asked what should feature on a new mural celebrating the club's history.

Hyndburn Council has approved the mural to be installed on The Crown Pub next to the Wham Stadium.

A red post box was put in place before Tuesday's home game against Newport County, as well as workshops with local schools, volunteers and community groups.

The original Accrington Football Club was one of the 12 founder members of the Football League in 1888, but it folded and left the league in 1893.
