Mohammad Rizwan Creates History, Becomes 1st Player In The World To Score Multiple Centuries Against A Team In PSL (Source: PCB/PSL)

Rizwan is often criticised for his slow batting approach in T20Is, but the Pakistan captain looked in beast mode and slammed nine boundaries and five gigantic sixes during his knock.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan also became the first batsman in the world to score two hundreds against a PSL franchise. Rizwan had notched up 110* against the same team in PSL 2023 as well. The hundred was pleasing for the captain, however, the defeat would have ruined the delight of a T20 hundred.

Rizwan also created an embarrassing record during the defeat and became the first captain in PSL to lose three matches while defending a 200+ score.

Records Galore

The 236 run chase by the Karachi Kings was the highest chase by a team that lost three wickets in powerplay in T20 history. The Kings lost the wickets of Tim Seifert, David Warner, and Shan Masood, but they did manage to score 76 runs in the first six overs. The 42-ball hundred by James Vince was the third-fastest in PSL history and second-fastest in a chase. It was the fastest hundred for Karachi Kings and against Multan Sultans by any batter.

Meanwhile, it was a rare day where the fans saw two big scores being chased in cricket. Along with Karachi chasing the highest score in PSL, Sunrisers Hyderabad pulled off the second-highest chase in IPL history after they made mockery of the 246-run target set by the Punjab Kings, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 141 in 55 balls.
