Bangladesh vs Netherlands, 2nd T20I, Sep 01, Netherlands tour of Bangladesh 2025

2
That's the series done. One more game to go in this series and that happens on Wednesday (3rd September). We will be there to bring you all the action. A chance for Netherlands to put in a much better performance in that game and also Bangladesh will look to give their squad players a go. Also they would look to bat first and post runs on the board. It's time to sign off for now. See you soon. Bye for now.

Litton Das: (if he is over the moon after this win) Not really. As a captain I want to win every series, but it's not possible. Credit to the team. They working hard last two weeks, we had a camp here and they put extra effort in practice. They executed their plans and how to bowl well on this wicket. You all know, how Fizz and Taskin is. Nasum is not playing much but he did well. We will try to build our team day by day. A good sign is whoever comes into the team are delivering and if you win, everything will be fine. (if they would like to bat first in the next game) Let's see.

Nasum Ahmed | Player of the Match (translated from Bengali): Pretty happy with what I achieved. The crowd encouraged me. Worried about the dew factor but there was extra turn.

Scott Edwards: That's a pretty ordinary performance in all facets. Very disappointing and we have got to rectify a lot of things. We probably did not assess the conditions that well. It was slower than the previous wicket. We were three-four down and then chasing the game. You want to be making 170-180 there. When you are defending 100, on a wicket like that was pretty tough. We started quite well, Aryan with the 3 overs in the powerplay was quite awesome. Need to pick up 3-4 wickets in the powerplay when you are defending just 100.

21:00 Local Time, 15:00 GMT, 20:30 IST: Netherlands again no match for this Bangladesh side. They are certainly improving under Litton Das. This is their third T20I series win in a row. Today's chase was done in a canter. 104 was never going to test this Bangladesh side at home. Especially with no early wickets. The openers set them on their way and then the stand between Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das finished it off. The former struck some clean hits with one slogsweep off ODowd over deep mid-wicket the highlight. Yet another learning curve for this Netherlands side in alien conditions. They will only be better off for this experience. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...

13.1 Kyle Klein to Tanzid Hasan, FOUR, emphatic win for Bangladesh. The series is won too with a game in hand. Tanzid Hasan gives the charge and takes the slower-ball on, flat-bats it powerfully wide of mid-on

Kyle Klein [2.0-0-16-1] is back into the attack

12.6 Paul van Meekeren to Litton Das, no run, length and angled in tight on off, Litton Das gets forward to defend to cover, wants a quick single but not there

12.5 Paul van Meekeren to Litton Das, no run, slower-ball off-cutter on a fuller length on off, Litton Das gets forward to defend to cover

12.4 Paul van Meekeren to Litton Das, FOUR, a juicy low full-toss outside off, Litton Das gets forward and shows the full face of the bat to loft and the ump ducks under it, runs away straight down the ground, was timed so sweetly, Paul van Meekeren put his hand up but the ball flew over him in a flash

12.3 Paul van Meekeren to Litton Das, 2 runs, Litton Das makes room outside the leg-stump, Paul van Meekeren follows him there, length and swiped away wide of deep square-leg and they come back for two

12.2 Paul van Meekeren to Tanzid Hasan, 1 run, no direct-hit and 50 for Tanzid Hasan. Drives to mid-off and takes on ODowd, he can't hit direct and he makes it, direct-hit could have been really close

12.2 Paul van Meekeren to Tanzid Hasan, wide, dug in short outside off, tennis-ball bounce, left alone and wide taken

12.1 Paul van Meekeren to Tanzid Hasan, 2 runs, slower-ball on a short of length just outside off, Tanzid Hasan goes on the back foot and works it to deep backward square-leg and the call was for two, runs hard and comes back easily, needed a direct-hit to make things close

Paul van Meekeren [2.0-0-18-0] is back into the attack

11.6 Max ODowd to Tanzid Hasan, 1 run, loopy delivery and it's a low full-toss on middle, Tanzid Hasan gets forward to drive to long-on

11.5 Max ODowd to Tanzid Hasan, 2 runs, wide googly outside off, Tanzid Hasan goes on the back foot and reaches for it to cut it wide of sweeper cover, who slides to his right and cuts it off

Another break in play. Not sure why. Now Rishad runs in with a helmet for one of the two batters. Looks like it's for Litton Das. We are ready again.

11.4 Max ODowd to Tanzid Hasan, SIX, this is a massive slogsweep from Tanzid Hasan. Too much flight on the stumps, Tanzid gets low and it goes 92m into the crowd at deep mid-wicket, that flew off the middle of the bat
