WTC 2025-27 points table: India rise to third position in the World Test Championship 2025-27 points table after securing their first-ever Test win over England at Edgbaston.

India beat England by 336 runs on Sunday (July 6) to win the Birmingham Test. In the second Test of the ongoing five-match series played at Edgbaston, India, after declaring their second innings for 427/6 on Saturday (July 5), India set a target of 608 runs for the English team to chase down in the fourth innings of the match, but the hosts could only manage to score 271 runs in 68.1 overs.

India’s new ball bowlers Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj once again ran through England’s batting order and helped Shubman Gill’s led side secure a famous win at Edgbaston.

The win over England in the second Test also helped India rise from the No. 5 to the No. 3 position in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table.

India have 12 points and 50.00 PCT% in WTC 2025-27, and they are in third position. England also have 12 points out of the available 24 and 50.00 PCT% and they are in fourth position.

2023 WTC winners Australia continues to take the No. 1 position in the table with 12 points and 100 PCT%. If the Baggy Green manages to get the better of the West Indies team in the second Test, currently underway at National Cricket Stadium in St. Georges, Grenada, then they will extend their total points to 24 and maintain top position.

Sri Lanka are in 2nd position with 16 points and 66.67 PCT%. Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh 1-0 in the two-match Test series played at home last month.

2025 WTC winners South Africa are currently engaged in a two-match Test series against Zimbabwe, but that overseas assignment isn’t part of the WTC 2025-27 cycle.

South Africa will kick off their WTC 2025-27 campaign against India in November when they travel to India for a two-match series. The first India-South Africa Test is scheduled to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata from November 14 to 18, and Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium will host the second red-ball match from November 22 to 26.

2021 WTC winners New Zealand will face the West Indies team in their first series of the 2025-27 cycle. The three-match Test series between New Zealand and the West Indies will start on December 2 in Christchurch.
