Advance Stat of the Week | ADJ COMP%

Our first advanced stat of the year is ADJ Comp% (Adjusted Completion Percentage). This metric measures quarterback accuracy by filtering out throws that are outside of their control—such as batted passes, spikes, drops, and balls intentionally thrown away. Why does this matter for fantasy football? Because quarterbacks who consistently deliver accurate throws give their pass catchers more chances to create yards after the catch, which directly fuels fantasy production.

In Week 1, 8 of the top 12 quarterbacks in ADJ Comp% also finished as top-12 fantasy scorers. Among them were Jalen Hurts, J.J. McCarthy, and Justin Fields, who all ranked in the top 3 for the stat. On the other hand, players like Caleb Williams and Baker Mayfield landed in the bottom 5 for ADJ Comp% but still managed to post QB1 fantasy weeks—a potential red flag for their long-term consistency.

Two interesting names to monitor are Joe Flacco and Jared Goff. Both ranked inside the top 7 in ADJ Comp% but didn’t fully capitalize in fantasy during Week 1. Their accuracy suggests they could be in line for stronger performances in Week 2.
