Everton have confirmed they have withdrawn their appeal against a second Premier League points deduction.

The Blues were hit with a two-point deduction in April for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules. But after securing their survival from relegation, they have now decided to end the appeal they had lodged.

A club statement reads: "Everton Football Club has withdrawn its appeal of the decision by a Premier League Independent Commission to impose a two-point deduction on the club for a breach of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules for the accounting period ending in June 2023.

"A hearing, scheduled for later this month, will now not proceed, and the club will conclude the 2023-24 Premier League season with the two-point deduction remaining in place."

The Blues are currently 11 points clear of the relegation places, with two matches of the campaign to play, after a run of four wins and a draw in six games.

Earlier in the season the club was hit with a 10-point deduction for breaking spending rules accounting for the 2021-22 season. It was later reduced to six on appeal.

Earlier this week Nottingham Forest saw their appeal against a four-point deduction, accounting for the 2022-23 season, rejected.
