'Like he never left': Tottenham fans react to Ange Postecoglou interview as Nottingham Forest lose again

Tottenham supporters have had plenty to say about Ange Postecoglou following Nottingham Forest's Carabao Cup exit.

Postecoglou, sacked by Spurs just days after ending the club’s 17-year trophy drought by delivering the Europa League, returned to management last week by replacing Nuno Espirito Santo at Forest.

However, the former Tottenham head coach has endured a slow start to his reign at the City Grund.

Postecoglou’s first game in charge of Forest ended in a 3-0 defeat away at Arsenal, and his second has seen them crash out of the Carabao Cup at the third round stage.

Leading 2-0 against Championship outfit Swansea heading into injury time thanks to a brace from Igor Jesus, Forest contrived to concede twice in the third and seventh minute of stoppage time to lose 3-2.

Although Postecoglou is only a few days into his new job, the manner of his post-match interview with Sky Sports immediately brought up flashbacks from his Tottenham days.

Speaking after the game, Postecoglou admitted his side paid a heavy price for not putting Swansea away sooner.

He said: "I thought it was a game we should’ve killed off long before it got to the stage that it did. I thought we’d be comfortable and the game would finish easily.

“I thought we'd score a good third goal but our chance was disallowed.

"This is the nature of cup football, when you've got the team where we had them you have to finish them off. I think the players thought it would naturally finish that way, we paid a heavy price, we have to improve.

"They had two shots from outside the box in the first-half and they didn't test us until right at the end. There were players on the pitch that needed football and were rusty. Even without that context we should've ended the game.”
