The 2025 WTA Montreal final is set, featuring an outstanding clash between four-time Slam champion Naomi Osaka and Canadian wild card Victoria Mboko, who is in her first-ever WTA final. This is a huge match for both players as experience meets youth. As always, we at LWOT will offer our prediction for the final, but which player will lift the trophy?WTA Montreal Final PredictionVictoria Mboko vs Naomi OsakaHead-to-Head: first meetingVictoria Mboko defined the odds once again in the semifinals to reach her maiden WTA final. She came back from a set down and saved a match point in the third set to defeat Elena Rybakina, who served for the match twice in the third set. The 18-year-old showed immense composure when she was down and played some fantastic tennis to secure the match win. This has been a breakout tournament for the Canadian, and she is guaranteed a Top 40 debut. Top 30 if she wins the final.Naomi Osaka is into her first WTA 1000 final since 2022, and what a dominant run this has been for the Japanese star. After losing several close matches this season and battling with inconsistency, this was the tournament Osaka needed to regain her confidence. This is the best she’s looked in a long time, and all her hard work is paying off. Not only is she hitting big, but her rally tolerance has been super impressive, which she will need against Mboko.Embed from Getty ImagesThis is a fascinating matchup and difficult to call as Osaka has spent less time on court, but Mboko has risen to the occasion every time. Both players play aggressive tennis, and while Osaka has the edge on serve, Mboko is the better mover and can hit winners from anywhere. Mboko has shown great poise and confidence so far, but it will be another huge task for her to beat an in-form Osaka, and I believe she may run out of gas this time.Prediction: Osaka in 3Main Photo Credit: Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports
