Hardik Pandya's brilliant catch dismisses Aamir Kaleem as India defeat Oman in Abu Dhabi.

Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was seen speaking to a support staff on the boundary lines seconds before he took a stunner to dismiss a set Aamir Kaleem in India’s final group-stage game against Oman on Friday in Abu Dhabi. The latter was batting on 64 at that time.

Pandya pulled off a crucial catch to dismiss Kaleem, who was in fine form with a resilient fifty. In the 18th over, with Oman threatening a shock upset, the latter flicked Harshit Rana over fine leg, only for Pandya to snatch a brilliant blinder.

An unseen angle has emerged on social media, showing the star Indian all-rounder speaking with a support staff member near the boundary rope just seconds before taking the catch. Watch the video here:

Pandya bowled the pivotal penultimate over as well, conceding only six runs and dismissing a set Hammad Mirza for 51.

India clinch convincing win over Oman

Pandya (1), needing more time at the crease, was run out by his former Baroda club teammate Jiten Ramanandi, while vice-captain Shubman Gill (5 off 8 balls) struggled during his short knock.

In bowling, skipper Suryakumar Yadav had the advantage of rotating eight bowlers to keep the team match-ready, confident that 189 would be a daunting target for Oman.

The two replacements in the playing XI, Harshit Rana (1/25 in 3 overs) and Arshdeep Singh (1/37), appeared rusty despite having featured in North Zone’s only Duleep Trophy game this season.

Kuldeep Yadav (1/23 in 3 overs) once again stood out. Arshdeep, who may sit out against Pakistan, seized the opportunity to claim his 100th wicket, becoming the first Indian to reach the landmark.

For Oman, captain Jatinder Singh (32 of 33 balls), fellow opener Kaleem (64 off 46 balls) and Mirza (51 off 34 balls) did put up a gutsy fight, but it wasn’t enough to script a famous victory over India.
