Kylian Mbappe insists he is not satisfied despite reaching 400 career goals during France’s 4-0 win over Ukraine.

France booked their place at the 2026 World Cup with a comfortable win in Paris, with Mbappe on target twice to pass a notable career milestone. Mbappe has now scored 400 career goals, becoming the youngest-ever player to achieve the feat.

The 26-year-old, who is now just two goals from matching Olivier Giroud’s all-time goal record for France, has said he demands more from himself.

Speaking after the win at Ukraine, the Real Madrid striker said he needs to score ‘at least 400 more’ to cement his place among the greatest footballers of all time.

“400 goals don’t impress people. I want to make my mark in football history, so I have to score at least 400 more,” Mbappe said.

“There is one with 950+ goals (Cristiano Ronaldo), and another with 900+ (Lionel Messi), 400 isn’t enough to stay in the circle of players who shock people.”
