Ruben Amorim reportedly helped end Manchester United’s team news leaks after he addressed the issue publicly—and the club followed suit. Before United's shock derby day win against rivals Manchester City last year, a correct leak of the Red Devils’ starting XI made the rounds on social media - calling people to question how such information had slipped through the cracks.Amorim, who only took up his post in the wake of Erik ten Hag’s dismissal last November, spoke out about the unfortunate event in his post-match press conference, aiming to quell any uproar. Now, raising the issue to the public has reportedly worked. The Daily Mail claims that said leaks have dried up since Amorim spoke publicly on the matter and since the club mimicked these concerns.Another contributing factor has been fan backlash. Social media accounts responsible for posting the lineups have since gone quiet, possibly due to criticism from fellow supporters.“I know that story,” was how Amorim began his response to the leaks in December. “I don’t know, I think it’s impossible to fix nowadays because you have a lot of people in the club, the players talk with agents.“You can talk with friends, so it’s hard to know. It’s not a good thing but let’s move on and go to the next one and see if they find the next starting XI.”Relive the biggest upsets from the World’s Greatest Cup Competition The FA Cup Giant Killers celebrates the biggest moments that only the FA Cup can throw up. The duo were said to be 'furious' by the claims and reportedly had to be persuaded by the club not to come out and publicly defend themselves.Solving the dressing room leaks - which Jose Mourinho and Ten Hag also experienced during their time in charge - will be like music to Amorim's ears, though the new United boss still has plenty to sort out on and off the pitch, namely the future of some of his key stars.Marcus Rashford could be on his way out after his agent held talks with AC Milan while Garnacho, as well as fellow former-'untouchable' stars Kobbie Mainoo and Ramus Hojlund, reportedly facing uncertain futures.Image: Alex Livesey/Getty Images) Alex Livesey/Getty Images)Before his side’s promising 2-2 draw against Liverpool, Amorim opened up about the turmoil that currently engulfs Old Trafford - one that could have salt rubbed into it should star players depart.“It's a really tough moment for everybody,” Amorim stated. “And I think the players are losing everything, the small things that we try to work on in training, after one goal, they lose everything because they don't have the base, we don't have time to build the base to cope with the difficult moments. So it's really hard in this moment."Join our new WhatsApp communityand receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
