Mick Bohan has decided to step down as Dublin's women’s football manager, bringing the curtain down on a decorated period in charge.Bohan informed the County Board that he did not wish to have his name put forward for ratification to end an eight-year period in the hotseat.Last year he led the Dubs to a sixth-ever All-Ireland title after getting the better of Kerry, five of those victories coming with him in charge.During his second term as senior manager Mick led Dublin to four-in-a-row (2017 to 2020) along with two league titles and six Leinster championships.Bohan was part of the 2002 senior management team that won the county’s first provincial crown and was at the helm when Dublin qualified for the 2003 All Ireland final versus Mayo, another historic first for the county."Since 2002, I have been involved with Dublin Football teams in some capacity, whether that be development squads, minor/U21s, DCU Sigerson and senior men and ladies teams," he said in a statement."I am so thankful to have had such a fulfilling coaching career with so many great players, mentors and coaches but more importantly so many special people."These past eight years I have found myself in the privileged position as manager of the Dublin team, an incredible group of young women who show such pride in the blue and navy."I do believe they have changed the landscape of how ladies football is played for the better and I am so proud of how the players carried themselves both in victory and defeat. This city means a lot to all of us and our games are special."
