Jack Grealish reacts to Jeremy Doku’s message after Man City masterclass

Jack Grealish showed his support for Man City teammate Jeremy Doku following his standout display in the Club World Cup.

Man City continued their perfect form in the Club World Cup with a commanding 5-2 win over Juventus on 27 June.

Doku stole the spotlight for Pep Guardiola’s side, opening the scoring with a superb finish as part of an electric performance from the Belgian winger.

Savinho also found the net with a stunning long-range strike, while Phil Foden and Erling Haaland came off the bench to add to the scoreline.

Grealish, who was left out of City’s Club World Cup squad, stayed positive and showed his backing for Doku’s performance on social media as Guardiola’s side look to add more silverware to their growing collection.

Doku posted on Instagram following his standout performance in Man City’s latest Club World Cup victory, having picked up the Player of the Match award.

“Glory to the most high” the Belgian winger wrote, as teammates flooded the comments in support.

Grealish was among those to react, liking the post alongside Foden, John Stones, and Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. Others, including Savinho and Claudio Echeverri, showed their appreciation by commenting with fire emojis.

Doku enjoyed a strong season for Man City last year, regularly featuring on the left flank ahead of Grealish. The 23-year-old made 40 appearances in all competitions, contributing eight goals and nine assists in just over 2000 minutes of action.

His Club World Cup campaign has continued that form, with two goals in his first two matches. It’s clear Guardiola has placed significant faith in Doku, while Grealish remains sidelined and was not included in the tournament squad.

Despite remaining supportive on social media, Grealish’s long-term future at the Etihad looks increasingly uncertain.

Football Insider revealed Grealish is expected to leave Man City after his relationship with Guardiola reportedly deteriorated over the course of last season.

The 29-year-old was left out of the FA Cup final squad and managed only seven Premier League starts across the campaign, sparking speculation over his role in Guardiola’s plans.

Football Insider previously reported that Grealish feels frozen out at Man City, and with his exclusion from the Club World Cup squad, it appears his time at the club may be drawing to a close.
