TBR Football can now exclusively provide the latest on how Benjamin Sesko is viewed internally at Manchester United – along with Nicolas Jackson. The Red Devils are on the hunt for a new striker after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee scored just seven Premier League goals combined last season in 32 appearances each, with Ruben Amorim in desperate need of more firepower. Now, TBR Football can share why Manchester United feel less concerned about a move for Benjamin Sesko – who is an option at Old Trafford as well as Nicolas Jackson.Exclusive: Christopher Vivell is giving Benjamin Sesko internal backingGraeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been told that Christopher Vivell, Director of Recruitment at Manchester United, has contributed to a positive development involving the Slovenia international. We understand the German knows Sesko well from his time as Technical Director at RB Leipzig, and is stressing to Amorim that the striker does possess the maturity required to play for Manchester United.Amorim was previously sceptical about the 22-year-old, and is believed to want a more senior striker who boasts greater experience, hence the reason Manchester United were never truly convinced by Liam Delap. However, Vivell is understood to have now eased concerns over Sesko by giving the RB Leipzig No.30 his backing, although Premier League rivals could still steal a march on the Red Devils.Arsenal are close to signing Viktor Gyokeres, so the Gunners will not be rivalling Manchester United. However, TBR Football understand Newcastle like Sesko, and could make a move after missing out on Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool.Bailey says: “Sesko and his people are considering his future – that could very well see him stay at RB Leipzig for another year following Arsenal’s decision to move for Viktor Gyokeres.“His people, along with intermediaries, have been gauging the interest and talking to clubs to assess their situation, and clubs in England have been spoken to, including Manchester United.“United are aware of the player and they like him, have done work on him throughout the last 12 months or so. He is an option for them but let’s not forget Amorim wanted a bit more experience with his number nine, he was never convinced by Delap.“Despite Amorim’s uncertainty due to his age, Christopher Vivell – who knows Sesko from his Red Bull days – has given his backing internally. I am told that he firmly believes that he is actually very mature – not dissimilar in his mentality to Erling Haaland and this has really eased some concerns United might have had.“They progressed with Delap because he was around valued £30m but Sesko could be almost three times that – it’s a big ask. Also don’t rule out some of United’s Premier League rivals yet, Arsenal aside.”What Manchester United think about Nicolas JacksonSesko is not the only option for Amorim, as Chelsea No.15 Jackson is also on the radar. We can confirm the Senegal international has grown concerned about his place under Enzo Maresca following the signings of Delap and Joao Pedro, with Chelsea now open to letting him depart.Bailey describes Jackson as “one to keep an eye on” for Manchester United fans, as those on the recruitment team at Old Trafford do admire him as well as Sesko. Our Chief Correspondent says: “As we reported earlier this month, Jackson’s situation is one that was becoming of interest to a host of teams.“Jackson has become concerned at what the future might hold for him at Chelsea with the additions of Delap and Pedro. I am told that Chelsea would be open to him leaving, and they would look to replace him, but that is just a consideration at this point.“On Jackson, having touched base with a number of clubs – there is interest and one of those who like him is United. He is a good age for them. Jason Wilcox and his footballing department do like him.“As we said earlier this month, Jackson is one to watch.”
