Bryan Mbeumo has dropped a fresh clue that he is keen on making the move to Manchester United this summer. The Reds have been in talks with Brentford for more than a month after the 25-year-old Cameroon international expressed his preference to make the move to Old Trafford.

Despite interest from Tottenham and Newcastle United, Mbeumo has made it clear he would love to sign for United, even if Ruben Amorim's side don't have Champions League football.

However, negotiations are beginning to drag on. United saw an opening offer of £55million turned down in the first week of June before submitting a second offer, understood to be in excess of £60m, just over a fortnight ago. It looked as though that would be enough, but Brentford are expected to demand more.

Mbeumo has made no secret of his desire to join United and his latest move on Instagram has appeared to underline his motivation to move on. He liked Leny Yoro's Instagram post on Friday, despite the pair having no prior involvement as teammates, though that could, of course, change in due course.

Yoro put up a post that read: "ReUnited," alongside an image of him going through his paces at Carrington and Mbeumo was among those to like the post, along with Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

There was optimism that Mbeumo could link up with his potential new United teammates ahead of pre-season starting earlier this week, but as of Saturday morning, a move has yet to materialise.

Speaking on Mbeumo's future earlier this month, Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: "There is significant interest in Bryan. His current preference has been well publicised.

"He had an unbelievable season, and we expected interest in him. From what I understand, he is also, if needs be, happy to stay at Brentford next year as well. We've spoken to Bryan and his representatives. It's not a given that he's going to depart this summer. If we get the right offer, there is the potential for a deal to be done, but there is only so much we can say now on that."

United have been back in training this week ahead of their first official pre-season fixture against Leeds United in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday, July 19. Most of United's squad returned on Tuesday, with the club's international players, including Fernandes and Dalot, following on Thursday.

£62.5m recruit Matheus Cunha has been at Carrington after he signed from Wolves, while Paraguayan left-back Diego Leon has been on the grass following his switch from Cerro Porteno.
