What Taylor Swift said about Jared Goff on ‘New Heights’ podcast

Taylor Swift revealed details about her 12th studio album on the “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday night, and while discussing her new love and understanding of football, she mentioned Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

She appeared on the latest episode of the podcast, which is hosted by Travis Kelce, her boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, and his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, to discuss “The Life of a Show Girl.”

Swift revealed the cover artwork, the track list, the release date, and other details about the album in the two-hour episode, and she also discussed a range of topics, like her parents’ health, baking sourdough bread and football.

Before dating Travis, Swift said she didn’t really know anything about the football world.

“Jason, on our first date, I literally, I legitimately asked him what it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl, and he looked across the field across the line of scrimmage and saw his brother standing...like five feet in front of him on the field,” Swift said.

“I now know what an insane question that was,” Swift said as she revealed that she thought everyone was on the field at the same time.

“I thought it was like Jared Goff is here and Josh Allen’s here and they’re going to be like, they blow a whistle and then they go at each other and they’re like errrrr. And it’s like, who’s going to win?”

Jason responded and said, “I would love to see Jared Goff play some defense. Let’s see Jared Goff on defense.”

The Lions shared a clip of the podcast on social media with the caption “Jared in his defense era?@taylorswift might be on to something.”

Travis said that he was “forever thankful” that Swift dived into the football world, and she said, “Oh my god, I fell in love with it; I became obsessed with it.”

“I became a person who was like running through the halls of my house screaming, ‘We drafted Xavier Worthy.’”

Travis said that Swift was the first person to tell him that the Chiefs drafted Worthy.
