NEW DELHI: Reigning champions India, under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, are set to launch their Asia Cup 2025 journey on September 10 against tournament hosts United Arab Emirates at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Men in Blue will be eyeing a record-extending ninth Asia Cup crown, strengthening their grip on the continental championship. The competition officially gets underway a day earlier, on September 9, with Afghanistan locking horns with Hong Kong in the curtain-raiser at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

For India, this campaign signals the start of a new era, as they take the field without iconic figures Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Even so, the team continues to be regarded as the tournament favourite, having already lifted the trophy eight times — more than any other side. Following their opening clash with UAE, India’s biggest test will come in the marquee encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai. Their final group-stage match will be against Oman at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
