Ansu Fati has completed his move from Barcelona to Monaco and will spend the season on loan with the Ligue 1 side. The deal also includes a purchase option, meaning it’s possible Fati has already played his last game for Barcelona. The forward departs after a frustrating season where he hardly featured under Hansi Flick and was left “angry” with his treatment in Catalunya, according to Diario Sport.Flick apparently told Fati at the start of the season that he was going to count on him but that didn’t end up happening. Instead he played only 270 minutes of football across the whole campaign.Fati also doesn’t feel like he was treated fairly after being left out of squads, apparently due to his performances in training, and believed the club “were prioritising his departure” instead. The report claims that Fati was even willing to terminate his contract at Barcelona before ultimately signing an extension and moving on loan to Monaco. The forward is now hoping to use his move to Monaco as a “springboard” to success and get back on track after a really difficult time.
