Man Utd want four more signings after Bryan Mbeumo deal, Ineos know what needs to happen

It is a positive indication of Ineos’ recruitment at Manchester United that a roadmap for the remainder of the summer is already clear.

In years gone by, transfer plans were a mystery, with the final days of a transfer window almost seeming as though Manchester United were spinning a wheel as to which player to panic buy.

This was the old regime, though, one Sir Jim Ratcliffe says “didn’t understand football”, which would be a harsh criticism if we all didn’t know it was absolutely true.

Under Ineos, things are a lot less chaotic and more organised, which will bear fruit for Ruben Amorim as soon as the 2025-26 season.

So far this summer, United have already signed Matheus Cunha with the £62.5m transfer fee potentially being a bargain if he can become the maverick needed in attack.

Following Cunha through the doors, Bryan Mbeumo is closing in on his United move, with a fee expected to reach as high as £65m with add-ons.

Once the Cameroonian forward is through the doors, United still have a substantial list of transfer business to do.

Which positions Manchester United still want to strengthen this summer

This summer always promised to be a blockbuster for United, with significant changes expected after the worst-ever Premier League season. The additions of Cunha and Mbeumo are just that, two of the league’s best who are game-changers for Amorim.

Now, according to The Times, United are looking for another four signings this summer to bolster the ranks at Old Trafford after the deal for Mbeumo is wrapped up.

The report claims that United are in the market for a striker, a wing-back, a midfielder, and a goalkeeper this summer.

However, the feasibility of covering all of these positions will depend, to an extent, on whether sales can be completed to raise funds.

Amorim is ready to sell four United players: Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford. Additionally, United are looking to sell Rasmus Hojlund this summer, with Inter Milan interested.

Who Manchester United should sign for each of these positions

These four positions are arguably the four that would transform United from a competitive to a title-challenging squad.

But who should be signed in each?

In an ideal world, Costa would make the most sense for United to strengthen in goal this summer. United have been linked with a £42m move for Costa, but this would only happen if Andre Onana were sold.

The Portuguese goalkeeper is Amorim’s top choice and would elevate United.

There are several players United could sign in midfield without breaking the bank, but right now, Ardon Jashari appears the favourite.

United are plotting a move for Jashari, and it would be an exciting signing, with a very high ceiling. He could become a star for £34m.

Any wing-back addition this summer would likely be a player capable of playing either side and boasting the attacking qualities needed by Amorim. So, Roger Fernandes would be perfect.

United have been scouting Fernandes, and he would be an exciting signing, capable of slotting in at either wing-back slot with versatility valued by Amorim.

Despite the Swede preferring a move to Arsenal, the Gunners are instead looking at Benjamin Sesko, and United, having limited options due to Hugo Ekitike and Victor Osimhen proving too expensive, we still have a feeling Viktor Gyokeres is United-bound.

There are two months left in the transfer window, and he won’t be staying at Sporting. So it may end up that both parties have no choice.
