Manchester United have made a fresh bid for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this week as he decides on his future.

Yesterday, Newcastle submitted an improved €80M (£70m), plus add-ons bid for Sesko which is yet to be accepted despite the striker being keen on making the move to the Premier League. Now, United have launched a bid for the Leipzig star who has scored 39 goals in 87 appearances for the club.

United’s bid is of a guaranteed £65.2m, rising to a possible £73.8M and they believe that Sesko would prefer a move to Old Trafford despite the lack of European football. According to journalist Florian Plettenburg, both clubs have agreed terms with the 22 year old and now it is down to the club to make a decision.

“EXCL DETAIL | Understand Benjamin #Sesko and his camp have reached full verbal agreements with both Manchester United and Newcastle over a long-term contract. Final details were settled yesterday.

“It now mainly depends on which club also reaches an agreement with RB Leipzig. Man United are offering €85 million, Newcastle €90 million. Decisive hours ahead.”

While Arsenal decided Sesko was too much of a gamble and opted to sign Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, United and Newcastle clearly think he is ready for such a huge jump to England’s top division and want him to lead the side heading into the new season.

Sesko has already told his Leipzig teammates he expects to leave this summer and if he does join United it would take their spending well past the £200M mark for this summer. Sesko would be addedto a list of names including Dean Huijsen, Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike among other who Newcastle have missed out on.
