Jadon Sancho will have another season in the Premier League to reignite his career after joining Aston Villa on a season-long loan from Manchester United on deadline day.

Sancho, 25, spent last term with Chelsea and helped them win the Conference League and qualify for the Champions League. However, the Blues paid a £5million penalty to send him back to Old Trafford in favour of signing him permanently.

After being omitted from Ruben Amorim's squad throughout the summer, Sancho secured an exit out of United by signing for Aston Villa. Unai Emery's team are expected to cover 80 percent of his wages, reported to surpass the £200,000-per-week mark.

"When I spoke to the manager he gave me belief and confidence," the winger told the club. "He showed me the plan of what they want to achieve this year and it really inspired me.

"He definitely persuaded me, and I can't wait to work under him."

Sancho will look to help Villa improve on their poor start to the season but also aim to break back into the England set-up ahead of next summer's World Cup. The United loanee hasn't represented his country since a 5-0 win over Andorra in 2021.

Remaining in England will also mean Sancho will be faced with his old teammates, just not on the pitch. The Football Association's rules prevent loan players featuring against their parent club in the Premier League and FA Cup.

However, Sancho could still catch up with friends and teammates at United when the two teams meet this campaign. Amorim's men travel to Villa Park on December 20 before the reverse fixture in March.
