How Liverpool could convince Kenan Yildiz to quit Juventus with talks ongoing

Juventus star Kenan Yildiz has become one of the most highly sought-after forwards in European football and Liverpool have now joined the race for him.

The 20-year-old has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, with Arne Slot‘s side now also keeping tabs on his performances.

While he is capable of playing through the middle, Yildiz is primarily a left-winger, and has scored three goals and provided four assists in 13 games this season.

That form has only increased the eyes on his displays, as Football Insider revealed on 26 September that Chelsea and Man United want to sign Yildiz in 2026.

While a deal would be extremely difficult to do in January, and Juventus have no plans to let him leave, it has done little to deter growing interest in his signature.

Liverpool target Kenan Yildiz could leave Juventus

Football Insider revealed in September that Yildiz is likely to stay at Juventus and sign a new contract despite interest from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Yildiz could decide to leave Juventus if they fail to match his ambitions by winning silverware and qualifying for European football after a dismal couple of years.

Talks over a new deal for the forward are still ongoing, but he could be tempted to quit to further his ambitions, with Liverpool able to offer the chance to win silverware.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “It’s no surprise that there won’t be any shortage of interest in Yildiz, one of the most highly regarded young players in Europe.

“Juventus are trying to do everything they can to keep hold of Yildiz. He’s under contract until 2029 but talks are ongoing about extending that and giving him fresh, improved terms as well.

“It’ll be more than Liverpool who’ll be interested. You’ve got Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United are all big admirers of the Turkish international.

“They are quite confident that he will sign new terms at Juventus to stay there. Juventus are quite optimistic that he will sign a new contract.

“But as I said, if Juventus don’t improve or become regular winners of competitions, and not show the ambition that Yildiz wants, there will be a load of Premier League clubs who will willing to temp him into a move to England.”

Despite Juventus’ confidence that the Turkey international will commit to a new deal, and that remains most likely as things stand, a move to the Premier League is possible.

Chelsea lead Liverpool in race to sign Yildiz

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider on 15 October that Chelsea are leading the race for Yildiz having been long-term admirers of his.

Chelsea are still interested in Yildiz, after they saw a huge £70million bid rejected by Juventus during the summer transfer window.

That could see Liverpool miss out on the talented forward despite their ambitions to add more strength in the wide areas despite their significant summer spending.

This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Liverpool are eyeing Anthony Gordon and Antoine Semenyo as key targets out wide.

The Reds have an interest in both the wide forwards, who are impressing for Bournemouth and Newcastle United respectively, this season.
