V Chamundeswaranath takes over as ICA player representative in BCCI apex council

V Chamundeswaranath has switched panels in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He will be the players representative to the Apex Council of the BCCI. He was previously the member of the Governing Council of the IPL, a position taken by Shubhangi Kulkarni. Kulkarni was on the Apex Council as a woman nominee.

Shantha Rangaswamy, a former India women's captain, has been elected president of the ICA. There was election for only one position -- that of Apex Council member. Chamundeswaranath defeated V Jadeja 755-83 in the 838 votes polled through e-voting.

Chamundeswara Nath is a former Andhra captain and he comes into the Governing Council in place of Dilip Vengsarkar, who completed his three-year term. The names were finalised after the election to the Indian Cricketers' Association (ICA). The ICA General Elections 2025, were held on October 15 and 16, 'in accordance with the Election Notification dated 24 September 2025.'

"This election marks a notable moment for the ICA, with two women now serving on the ICA Board, and for the first time, a female President and a female nominee to the IPL Governing Council - reflecting the Association's commitment to inclusive representation and progressive leadership," the ICA said in a statement.
