Sunday footy: Knights v Wests Tigers; Storm run riot at AAMI

The Knights were left counting the cost of a bruising 20-0 loss to the table topping Bulldogs and will have their depth and resolve tested against a vastly improved Wests Tigers outfit.

With 14 wins in their past 16 games at AAMI Park, the Storm continue to be scary proposition at home but a shoulder injury to Jahrome Hughes took some of the gloss of the day.

Coming off a dazzling eight-try romp at 4 Pines Park last Sunday, the Storm have run in seven more tries to rack up a 17th consecutive win over the Warriors.

Another huge round of football comes to a close with the Storm and Knights back on home soil and looking to put on a show for the true believers.

Wests Tigers are 1-17 with no late changes.

Tyrone Thompson moves into the starting side and Brodie Jones goes to the bench in a game day swap. On NRL debut, Tyrone lines up in the front row with twin brother Leo.

2 min: A Phoenix Crossland bomb is spilt by Jeral Skleton and the Knights go on the attack early.

5 min: On the back of conceding an offside penalty the Tigers are forced to defend their line but Starford To'a does a good job to gather in a Phoenix Crossland grubber.

8 min: Bradman Best is caught offside on his own tryline and the Tigers get a couple of sets in the Red Zone but Jarome Luai's grubber is easily tidied up by Kalyn Ponga.

13 min: The first incomplete set of the match with Tigers No.6 Lachlan Galvin throwing a loose pass on the last play and the Knights picking up the scraps.

19 min: Sunia Turuva grabs the game's first try after Lachlan Galvin runs the ball on the last and finds Jahream Bula who links with Starford To'a who sends the last pass to Turuva. The conversion from wide out by Adam Doueihi slides to the left. Tigers 4-0.

25 min: Dane Gagai comes up with an error bringing the ball out of his own end and the Tigers get another shot at points but Lachlan Galvin's grubber is way too heavy.

27 min: Another error by the Knights by Kyle McCarthy and this time the Tigers make them pay with Starford To'a leaving Bradman Best in his wake as he races 20 metres to score. Adam Doueihi again misses the conversion. Tigers 8-0.

30 min: The Tigers launch a successful captain's challenge after the referee ruled Jeral Skleton had knocked on in a contest for a bomb with Kalyn Ponga but replays showed no touch by the Tigers winger.

Next week: The Storm head to Brisbane on Friday to face the Dolphins while the Warriors are at home to the Broncos.

Full-time: In front of 26,427 fans at AAMI Park the Storm attack clicked for the second week in a row in a 42-14 victory. Xavier Coates bagged two tries and ran for a mammoth 233 metres while Eli Katoa racked up 170 metres in the back row. Warriors back-rower Erin Clark never stopped trying in his 100th NRL game, running for 129 metres and breaking five tackles.

80 min: Luke Metcalf gets around Cameron Munster to post a late try for the Warriors, who win the second half 14-6.

75 min: A late consolation try for the Warriors after Storm centre Moses Leo loses the ball in his own in goal area and Rocco Berry pounces on the loose ball to score. Storm 42-10.

73 min: Rocco Berry goes on report for high contact on Jack Howarth.

73 min: Harry Grant comes up with a trysaver as he knocks the ball free from Demitric Vaimauga's hands after the Warriors bench man had regathered a kick and looked set to score. Vaimauga then leaves the field for a HIA and Grant is given an early mark by coach Craig Bellamy.

70 min: A lost ball by Rocco Berry 25 metres out from his own line gives the Storm another opportunity but Cameron Munster's grubber is too heavy and goes over the dead ball line.

60 min: Slick hands down the left from Ryan Papenhuyzen and Jack Howarth puts Xavier Coates into space and he powers past Taine Tuaupiki to complete his double. Coates now has 12 tries in eight games against the Warriors. Storm 42-6.

58 min: The Warriors mount more pressure in the search for a second try but Jackson Ford makes a mess of the play the ball to rack up the Warriors' ninth error.

55 min: On the back of a long run by Ali Leiataua the Warriors snare their first try when Leka Halasima climbs high to bring down a kick and powers through three defenders from close range to score. Luke Metcalf converts. Storm 36-6.

52 min: Warriors forward Marata Niukore leaves the field for a HIA which he passes and is able to return to the field.

49 min: Storm forward Tui Kamikamica goes on report for high contact.

44 min: Warriors fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad is forced from the field for a HIA while Storm halfback Jahrome Hughes won't play the second half due to the shoulder knock he took in the first half. Nicoll-Klokstad fails his HIA.

Half-time: The Storm had 63 per cent of possession and completed at 83 per cent as they came up with seven line breaks to nil. Xavier Coates came up with a try, two try assists and 134 run metres while Moses Leo ran for 101 metres. Wayde Egan and Mitch Barnett racked up 50 tackles between them as the Warriors tried to stem the flow.

40 min: The Storm keep their line intact when Jack Howarth and Cameron Munster combine to put a big shot on Rocco Berry who loses the ball.

36 min: Harry Grant darts from dummy half and seems set to bag another four-pointer for the Storm but he is denied by a great defensive play by Demitric Vaimauga who strips the ball and comes away.

31 min: Four tries in 11 minutes for the rampant Storm side as Grant Anderson crosses in the right hand corner and Ryan Papenhuyzen bounces the conversion in off the upright to make it 36-0.

28 min: Ryan Papenhuyzen handles twice in the lead-up and Xavier Coates delivers the final pass for Harry Grant to sprint away for the Storm's fifth of the afternoon. Papenhuyzen converts. Storm 30-0.

24 min: Josh King goes to the line and gets a superb offload away for Trent Loiero to cross as the Storm continue to run amok through the middle. Ryan Papenhuyzen adds the extras. Storm 24-0.

11 min: A blow for the Warriors with James Fisher-Harris leaving the field with a suspected pectoral injury.

10 min: Some fancy footwork by Erin Clark creates an opportunity for the Warriors but the lock forward loses the ball in a tackle.

6 min: A deft grubber by Wayde Egan earns the Warriors a repeat set in the Red Zone but Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad's pass is intercepted by Xavier Coates and the Storm come away.
